The Lawson Police Department asks for your
support of the Long family with the passing of
Ralph A "Butch" Long.
Butch Long, born March 7, 1946, passed away July
7, 2009 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in
Kansas City. Butch was a veteran of both the
Marine Corps and the US Army and served in
Vietnam during the Vietnam war.
Long helped his community for twenty five years in
law enforcement, serving with several Police and
private security departments, including the North
Kansas City Police Department and the Lawson
Police Department.
Butch served the Lawson community from June
2001 till May 2006 and held the rank of Sergeant.
His duties involved the supervision of the patrol
officers, administrative supervision, and over
seeing investigative follow ups.
Services of Sergeant Long will be held at the First
Christian Church at 2018 Gentry in North Kansas
City, MO on July 26th at 3:00PM.
